Meridian School District - Public Schools Serving Meridian, W. Boise, Star & Eagle

The Meridian Joint School District serves the cities of Meridian, West Boise, Star and Eagle, Idaho. It has undergone rapid growth in the last decade and is now the largest school district in the State of Idaho.

Since 2000, the district has opened 5 elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one alternative high school.

Traditional Schools

For those seeking a traditional school arrangement, the Meridian School District offers the following:

  • 25 Elementary Schools (K-5th grades)
  • 7 Middle Schools (6th -8th grades)
  • 4 High Schools (9th-12th grades)
  • 2 Alternative High Schools (Small class sizes)

Specialty Schools

The Meridian Joint School District also offers other schooling alternatives:

  • The Treasure Valley Math & Science Center - Opened in the fall of 2004 as a partnership program between the Meridian and Boise School Districts. The Center is designed for students with a strong interest in mathematics and science. The Micron Technology Foundation has pledged $1 million over a four-year period to fund the start-up of the Center.
  • Magnet Schools - These aren’t actual school buildings but, instead offer a school within a school to focus on a particular teaching style, student population or area of interest.
  • Meridian Night School - Offers students an opportunity to obtain their high school diplomas outside the time constraints of the traditional school day.
  • Professional-Technical Education Center (PTEC) - Provides students with workforce skill development and a seamless transition to active participation in economic and community roles. PTEC services students from the Boise, Meridian, and Kuna school districts.
